Court Ruling Not the End of the Road, PDP Will Emerge Stronger – MBY

By Muazu Abubakar Albarkawa
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives candidate for Zaria Federal Constituency, Hon. Muttaka Balarabe Yakub (MBY), has urged party members not to lose hope following the recent Federal High Court judgment, insisting that the legal process is yet to be exhausted.

Speaking with journalists in Zaria, the PDP chieftain, who is aligned with the Kabir Tanimu Turaki faction of the party, said the court's decision should not be interpreted as the end of the matter, stressing that the judiciary provides constitutional avenues for parties seeking further legal redress.

"We respect the judgment of the court and the rule of law, but we also believe that the law provides opportunities for any aggrieved party to seek further legal remedies. We remain committed to pursuing justice through lawful means," he said.

Yakub expressed confidence that his faction would remain united and continue to pursue its political objectives peacefully, adding that democracy thrives when disputes are resolved through legal and constitutional processes.

He called on PDP members across Zaria Federal Constituency and beyond not to be discouraged by the ruling, describing political challenges as temporary obstacles that should strengthen rather than weaken the resolve of party faithful.

"Our supporters should remain calm, united and hopeful. Politics requires patience and perseverance. We should not allow temporary setbacks to divide us or weaken our commitment to the party," he said.

Yakub also paid glowing tribute to Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Kabir Tanimu Turaki, describing him as a committed statesman, seasoned legal practitioner and one of the pillars of the PDP who has consistently demonstrated unwavering loyalty to the party and the ideals of democracy.

He said Turaki's leadership, political maturity and commitment to justice have continued to inspire party members across the country, particularly in Kaduna State, adding that his calm disposition and respect for the rule of law remain exemplary.

According to him, despite the current political and legal challenges facing the party, Turaki has continued to encourage members to remain united, law-abiding and focused on strengthening the PDP rather than allowing temporary setbacks to weaken their resolve.

"Alhaji Kabir Tanimu Turaki is not just a respected leader within our party; he is a symbol of courage, integrity and steadfastness. He has invested enormously in the growth of the PDP and has always placed the collective interest of the party above personal ambition. His commitment to democracy and justice is unquestionable, and we remain proud to stand with his leadership," Yakub said

Reacting to celebrations by political opponents following the judgment, Yakub said every Nigerian has the right to express an opinion, but stressed that all parties should respect due process until all available legal options have been concluded.

He maintained that his political future remained bright, noting that his commitment to serving the people of Zaria was not dependent on any single court decision.

"Leadership is about service and sacrifice. Regardless of the circumstances, I will continue to work for the progress of our constituency and the growth of the PDP," he stated.

The PDP candidate assured party members that the leadership of his faction would continue to pursue peaceful and lawful means of resolving internal disputes while strengthening the party ahead of future political activities.

He urged members to remain loyal to the PDP, avoid actions capable of creating divisions within the party, and continue mobilising support at the grassroots.

"We remain confident in our party and in the democratic process. With unity, discipline and determination, the PDP will emerge stronger and continue to offer credible leadership to the people," Yakub said.
