Medical Outreach: Over 2,000 people to receive free eye treatment in Zaria

The medical outreach organized and sponsored by the Fatima Tajuddeen Abbas Foundation is aimed at providing essential eye care services and diagnosis on cataracts, glaucoma, and other treatable conditions.
The Convener of the foundation and wife of the Speaker, House of Representatives, Hajiya Fatima Tajuddeen Abbas said those requiring surgery will be referred to a nearby hospital for further treatment, while others will receive eye glasses to correct vision problems.
According to her, the programme will commence on Tuesday, November, 25 2025 with the screening of patients from the six wards of Zaria city while on Wednesday those from the seven wards of Zaria kewaye will be screened.
Hajiya Fatima added that the main.medical diagnosis and treatment will hold from Thursday, stating that the whole exercise will last for six days.
The Wife of the NASS Speaker assured that a team of dedicated eye care professionals will be deployed from refutable hospitals to conduct the exercise.
According to her the team.will be led by experienced ophthalmologists and optometrists, that will conduct comprehensive eye screenings,.provide diagnoses and treatment for various eye conditions.
Hajiya Fatima therefore urged victims of eye problems to take advantage of the programme to improve on their vision.
