Gov. Dauda Lawal to Deliver Keynote Address at FUE Zaria International Conference

Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has accepted an invitation to deliver the keynote address at the maiden International Hybrid Conference of the Faculty of Social Sciences Education, Federal University of Education (FUE), Zaria.

The three-day conference, scheduled for August 4 to 6, 2026, is expected to attract academics, researchers, policymakers and development experts from within and outside Nigeria to discuss contemporary issues shaping education, digital innovation and sustainable development.

A statement issued by Sani Lawal Maqarphy, Media aide to the Vice Chancellor Federal University of Education Zaria said delegation from the faculty, led by the Deputy Dean and Chairperson of the Local Organising Committee (LOC), Dr. (Mrs.) Hadiza Abdullahi, formally presented the invitation to the governor during a courtesy visit to the Government House in Gusau.

According to the statement other members of the delegation included the Head of the Department of Library and Information Science and LOC Treasurer, Dr. Amina Muhammad, alongside members of the conference organising committee.

During the visit, the delegation presented the conference invitation letter and other materials to the governor, who accepted the request to serve as keynote speaker at the international gathering.

Governor Lawal expressed appreciation to the faculty for considering him for the role and reaffirmed his administration's commitment to promoting quality education, research, innovation and sustainable development as critical drivers of national growth.

The conference, themed "Reimagining Knowledge Systems for Digital Transformation and Sustainable Development in the 21st Century," is designed to provide a platform for robust intellectual engagement on emerging trends in education, technology, governance and national development.

The Media aide informed that the conference would foster interdisciplinary collaboration, encourage research-driven solutions to contemporary societal challenges and strengthen partnerships among universities, government institutions, industry players and development organisations. 

It is also expected to generate policy recommendations aimed at enhancing educational transformation and sustainable development in Nigeria and beyond.
