Prominent Dignitaries Celebrate Professor Haliru Umaru’s Promotion to Professorship

The Mutawallen Zazzau, ProfessorAminu Ladan Shuraihu, has described the elevation of Professor Haliru Umaru to the rank of Professor as a landmark achievement worthy of celebration. He made the remark during a reception organized by the Siddiq family in honour of the academic at the Federal University of Education (FUE), Zaria. He said the recognition was not only a personal achievement for Professor Umaru but also a source of pride for the academic community, Zazzau Emirate and Kaduna State as a whole.

Alhaji Abubakar Siddiq noted that Professor Haliru Umaru's journey to the highest academic rank was built on years of dedication, commitment to scholarship and service to humanity. He urged academics and students to emulate the values of hard work, discipline and perseverance demonstrated by the celebrant throughout his career.

In his goodwill message, the National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, congratulated Professor Haliru Umaru on the achievement, describing him as a distinguished scholar whose contributions to teaching, research and intellectual development have earned him respect within and beyond the academic community. He said the promotion was a reflection of merit, excellence and unwavering commitment to knowledge.

Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed further called on students and young people to remain focused on their studies and personal development, emphasizing that education remains the most effective tool for societal transformation. According to him, Nigeria needs more scholars who can use knowledge and research to address the country's developmental challenges and contribute to national progress.

Also speaking at the event, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Zaria, Professor Suleiman Balarabe, praised Professor Haliru Umaru for his outstanding contributions to the growth of the institution. He described the newly promoted Professor as a dedicated academic, mentor and researcher whose commitment to excellence has positively impacted students and colleagues alike. Professor Balarabe noted that the university was proud of the achievement and expressed confidence that Professor Umaru would continue to contribute significantly to scholarship and institutional development.

Responding, Professor Haliru Umaru expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the achievement and thanked the organizers, colleagues, family members and well-wishers for their support throughout his academic journey. He described his promotion as a call to greater responsibility and pledged to continue contributing to teaching, research, mentorship and community service. He also encouraged students to embrace hard work, integrity and perseverance in pursuit of academic excellence.

The ceremony attracted prominent academics, traditional title holders, political leaders, students and other distinguished guests who gathered to celebrate the achievement and offer prayers for Professor Haleeru Umaru's continued success in his academic career.

KADVS assures residents of safety during Christmas, New Year celebration

From Sadiq Mohd Zaria  Kaduna State Vigilance Service (KADVS) has reassured residents of the state of its unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property throughout the Christmas and New Year festive period. A statement, issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Service, Yunusa Shehu Ibrahim said the Commander, CP Ali D. Audu (Rtd.), stated that KADVS operatives have been strategically positioned across the state to ensure a peaceful and secure celebration. The statement urged members of the public to remain vigilant and to promptly report any suspicious persons, movements, or activities to KADVS operatives or the nearest security agency.
