Sallah: Kaduna Vigilante deploys 8,500 personnel in 23 LG's to curb crimes

Kaduna State Vigilante Service has deployed 8,500 personnel across the 23 local government areas of Kaduna State to ensure safety and curb criminal activities throughout the festive period.

A statement issued by Yunusa Shehu Ibrahim, Public Relations Officer of the service said the Commander, CP Ali Dabigi Audu psc (Rtd), said the deployment was part of coordinated effort to strengthen security and support the Nigeria Police Force and other agencies in maintaining law and order.

According to the statement the operation also aims to ensure the safety of residents before, during, and after the sallah festival.

"This initiative will provide comprehensive coverage across the state, enabling Muslim faithful and other residents to celebrate in a peaceful and secured environment." It said.

The statement also revealed that 300 newly trained local security operatives have also been integrated into the system. 

"The personnel were trained under the Kaduna State Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs in collaboration with the Kukah Foundation to boost security operation across the state. 

"They are expected to enhance grassroots security through intelligence gathering, surveillance, conflict resolution, and community engagement." The Commander said.

It urged residents to cooperate with security agencies and remain vigilant. He emphasizing that security is a shared responsibility and assured the public of KADVS’ commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of residents throughout the festive period.
