Ramadan breakfast: Zaria LG Chair feeds 2,000 vulnerable people in 22 mosques daily

No fewer than 2,000 vulnerable people have enjoyed Ramadan breakfast feeding programme initiated by the Chairman Zaria local government.

The initiative conducted under JAGA Care Foundation targeted 22 mosques across the local government area.

A statement issued by Ishaq Galadima, Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Zaria local government said the programme that runs for 27 days of the month of Ramadan has finally came to conclusion as Eid El Fitr Sallah approaches.

"This is to enable those responsible for the cooking, packaging, conveying and distribution of the food items have time to prepare for the Sallah celebration along with their family.

"It has became imperative to halt the programme since the Ramadan is bidding goodbye and allow the organizers make preparation for the festive moment." Galadima said.

The Chief Press Secretary said the gesture which is the first of it's kind was initially conceived by the local government Chairman, Engineer Jamil Ahmad Muhammad JAGA as part of his effort to bring succour to the vulnerable people during the fasting period.

Galadima added that the mosques used during the exercise were carefully selected cutting across all the 13 wards of the local area.

He appreciated the donour of the food items and prayed Allah to reciprocate the gesture in thousand folds.

While commending the organizers for deligent execution of the exercise, Galadima also thanks mosques committees for their support and cooperation during the period of the programme.

The Spokesman of the Chairman however solicited more support to encourage Engineer Jamil JAGA unveils more productive and people oriented programmes that will better the lives of the community.
