There are leaders you read about in newspapers, and there are leaders you feel the moment your feet touch the soil of their community. Hon. Vincent Bodam belongs to the second kind. Kaduna knows his name not because it was shouted the loudest, but because it was earned the longest. Across radio waves, shipping lanes, boardrooms, and town halls, he has built a life in service to people, to trade, to peace, and to progress. His career reads like a bridge: connecting voice to action, connecting commerce to community, connecting policy to the everyday man and woman on the street.  That bridge rests on a foundation of learning. He holds a first degree in English from the University of Jos, where he studied how words can build nations and mend divides. He went further for a Master’s degree in Public Administration at the University of Lagos, to understand the machinery of government and how to make it work for the people at the bottom. He also earned a Postgraduate Diploma in...

By the time history sits down to write the true account of Zaria Local Government in this generation, one name will rise above the noise, not because it shouted the loudest, but because it worked the hardest, because it carried the weight of a people and turned it into progress. That name is Engineer Jamil Ahmad Jaga. To speak of him is to speak of vision that refuses to sleep, of competence that refuses to compromise, and of leadership that refuses to abandon its people.   He was not molded in the ordinary kiln of politics. His foundation was poured in the classrooms of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he earned his first degree in Water Resource Engineering. Water is life, and from the very beginning he chose a discipline that teaches patience, planning, and the quiet power of flow. An engineer learns to see what others do not see. He learns to trace a problem to its source, to calculate, to design, to build what will outlast him. That training did not leave...

By Abubakar Ahmed Esq In the noisy arena of Nigerian politics, where noise often drowns substance and ambition too often outpaces service, it is rare to find a public officer whose career quietly threads the needle between intellect, grassroots presence, and institutional discipline. Aminu Abdullahi Shagali represents that rare blend. He is the kind of leader a state calls upon not just in seasons of calm, but most especially in "rainy days" — times of crisis, transition, and difficult choices. Born on 13 February 1980, Shagali is a son of Kaduna who chose politics not as a shortcut to wealth, but as a platform for service. His academic foundation speaks to that intention and to his preparedness for leadership. He is a graduate of Political Science from Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto — a training ground that gave him an early grasp of statecraft, power dynamics, and civic responsibility. He built on this with a Masters in Public Administration from Ahmadu Bello...
